Chicago Bulls have fired executive vice president of basketball operations Artūras Karnišovas and general manager Marc Eversley. The decision was made Monday by CEO and president Michael Reinsdorf, who chose to shift the franchise’s basketball direction.
Since taking over at the start of the 2020-21 season, Chicago went 224-254, made just one playoff appearance, and exited in the first round in 2022. This season, the Bulls are 29-49 and sit 12th in the Eastern Conference, missing the postseason for a fourth consecutive year.
The move confirms that what had been described as a pivotal week in Chicago has indeed become one, with even bigger consequences than expected. The focus now turns to what comes next, both in the front office and possibly on the bench as well.
