Cade Cunningham gets upgraded to doubtful for Pistons-Magic

In the NBA’s official 1:15 p.m. ET injury report for April 6, 2026, Cunningham is listed as doubtful for Detroit at Orlando, after an earlier report the same day had him listed as out. That makes this a meaningful status upgrade ahead of the matchup with the Magic.

Cunningham is dealing with a left lung pneumothorax, and Detroit had announced on April 2 that he would be out at least another week. Reuters reported that he has appeared in 61 games this season and is averaging 24.5 points, 9.9 assists and 5.6 rebounds.

He is not confirmed to return yet, but the updated listing suggests he may be getting closer to rejoining the lineup.
It is still a significant development for Detroit, especially with the team having already clinched the No. 1 seed in the East.

The Pistons have upgraded Cade Cunningham to DOUBTFUL for tonight’s game against the Magic.

Cunningham has missed each of the Pistons’ last 10 games with a collapsed left lung.
