Luka Doncic scored 60 points in the Los Angeles Lakers’ 134-126 road win over the Miami Heat, earning “MVP” chants from the home crowd late in the game at Kaseya Center. The Slovenian star shot 18-for-30 from the field and 9-for-17 from deep, adding 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 5 steals.
The win marked the Lakers’ eighth in a row, with Doncic now posting his fourth 40-plus-point game in the past eight contests. LeBron James added a triple-double with 19 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists, while Austin Reaves scored 18 points, including 12 in the second half.
After the game, coach JJ Redick strongly backed Doncic’s MVP case, praising both his clutch play and his influence on teammates. Doncic stayed away from the debate, saying the decision belongs to the media, but his recent production is impossible to ignore: he is averaging 40.9 points during the Lakers’ winning streak.
