In Boston’s 125-116 loss in San Antonio, Jaylen Brown was ejected in the second quarter after officials assessed two quick technical fouls. The flashpoint came after Brown stumbled out of bounds on a play he argued involved a shove by Stephon Castle, but the crew saw no illegal contact.

Crew chief Tyler Ford said the first technical was for aggressively pointing and using profanity in reaction to the no-call, and the second for aggressively approaching an official while continuing to argue. At the time of the ejection, the Boston Celtics led 51-49.
Mazzulla supported Brown with a humorous analogy about a high school principal having the courage to eject a student, then added he had Brown’s back “100%.” Brown posted his reaction on X and has been outspoken about refereeing this season.
