New Los Angeles Lakers president of business operations Lon Rosen made his first public comments since taking the job, stressing stability as the franchise enters a pivotal offseason. Rosen said he will oversee the business side only, while Rob Pelinka will remain empowered as president of basketball operations and general manager.
Rosen also noted that Pelinka will be supported in a consultative capacity by Los Angeles Dodgers executives Andrew Friedman and Farhan Zaidi, adding organizational depth as the Lakers reshape around Luka Dončić. The 67-year-old Rosen—formerly an intern with the Lakers and a Dodgers executive since 2012—becomes the first high-profile bridge between Walter’s two major L.A. properties.
Rosen addressed Magic Johnson as well, saying the Lakers legend will not have day-to-day involvement. He further backed the continuity of key business pillars, including Crypto.com Arena and Spectrum SportsNet, and highlighted Dončić’s star power as a major boost to the Lakers’ international footprint.
