DeRozan slammed a water bottle during a third-quarter timeout; Doug Christie calls him “a consummate professional.”

The Sacramento Kings’ slump hit a new low Monday night: a 120-94 loss at the Smoothie King Center made it 13 straight defeats, the longest streak since the franchise moved to Northern California in 1985. The all-time franchise mark remains 14, set as the Cincinnati Royals and later matched in 1970-71.

During a third-quarter timeout, DeMar DeRozan slammed a water bottle as emotions spilled over, shortly after a Zion Williamson alley-oop dunk. “A lot of stuff we do is self-inflicted,” DeRozan said, describing poor spacing leading to transition chances and “easy buckets.”

Head coach Doug Christie said he understood the moment and spoke with DeRozan, calling him “a consummate professional” and framing the frustration around trying to “ending a skid.” Rookie center Maxime Raynaud posted 21 points and a career-high 19 rebounds for Sacramento, while New Orleans controlled the game throughout, led by Trey Murphy III (21) and Jeremiah Fears (20).
