Maccabi Tel Aviv is mourning the loss of David Federman, one of the club’s long-standing owners who passed away early Sunday morning at the age of 81. A cornerstone of the organization for decades, Federman died at home surrounded by his family.
In an official statement, the club paid tribute to his legacy: “Federman was a true Maccabist throughout his life, a central and significant figure in the club’s family for decades. He accompanied Maccabi Tel Aviv with devotion, love, and deep commitment.”
Beyond his 29% ownership stake, Federman was widely regarded as a man of values and an Israeli patriot whose leadership helped define the modern era of the “Yellows.” His immense contribution to both the club and the broader Israeli sports community will be remembered forever.
The global basketball community joins Maccabi Tel Aviv in extending heartfelt condolences to the Federman family.
