Anadolu Efes beat Zalgiris 92-82 to finish the double-round week with two wins, keeping their positive momentum after earlier back-to-back victories in other stretches against Bayern Munich and Barcelona. Coming in with confidence after Valencia, Efes knocked down 16 threes and generated 24 assists, consistently finding offense.
Efes started scorching hot, opening 5/5 from deep and leading 17-12 at the five-minute mark, then closing the first quarter up 25-24 on 7/9 three-point shooting. Defense kept it from breaking open: Zalgiris climbed back and briefly moved ahead through Tubelis’ post work (41-39), but Efes still held a 47-45 halftime lead, with Weiler-Babb on 10 and both Loyd and Dozier on 11.
The third quarter swung again as Osmani helped Efes stretch it to 55-45, only for Zalgiris to surge when Efes couldn’t convert against the zone, turning it into a 67-65 Zalgiris edge heading to the last 10 minutes. Efes opened the fourth with maximum energy, cut out easy baskets and flipped it to 76-71 with six minutes left, before Tubelis’ three made it 78-77 for Zalgiris. Saben Lee’s isolations pushed Efes back in front (83-82 with 2:18 left), and Jordan Loyd buried his fourth triple with 42 seconds remaining to land the key blow at 86-82, setting up the closing stretch.
