The Golden State Warriors have involved Draymond Green in active trade conversations ahead of Thursday’s deadline, as the franchise continues to explore a potential path to Giannis Antetokounmpo. Steve Kerr said he spoke with Green on Monday amid the rumors: “It’s probably the first time… his name has ever really been mentioned in trade talks.”
Per ESPN, Golden State must include either Jimmy Butler III (injured, $56.8M next season) or Green ($27.6M) to match salaries, and Green’s deal is viewed as easier to move — plus he’s healthy and able to help a contender immediately. Green addressed the situation recently: “If I’m traded, that’s part of the business. I ain’t losing no sleep.”
But his press conference that night was very exciting. When asked a specific question, this was his answer: ‘If it ends, what a f****** run it has been.’
