Aleksandar Djordjevic has declined Zenit Saint Petersburg’s initial offer, per Artem Komarov.
That development leaves the talks unresolved and keeps the situation open.
Komarov had previously reported Zenit were in discussions with Djordjevic for the head coach position.
The former Serbia and China national team coach has been out of coaching since 2024 and was described as the closest option.
Zenit still have several other names on their shortlist, according to the same report.
Two of those candidates are also Serbian coaches.
