Butler injures his right knee vs the Heat: MRI followed and the diagnosis ends his season, a major hit for Golden State

Sources told ESPN that Jimmy Butler suffered a season-ending torn right ACL on Monday night. The Golden State Warriors wing went down in the 135-112 win over the Miami Heat, leaving the floor with help.

The injury struck at the 7:41 mark of the third quarter after a jump for an entry pass and contact with Davion Mitchell.
Butler’s right knee appeared to twist on the landing, and he couldn’t put weight on his right leg as he headed to the locker room.

Steve Kerr said the locker room felt “subdued” and “concerned” while awaiting results, and Stephen Curry said he was “praying for the best” on the scans.
The blow lands during a surge (12 wins in the last 16), with Butler averaging 21.3 points on 53% shooting in January and scoring 17 in 21 minutes before exiting.
