The Los Angeles Lakers ruled Luka Doncic out Saturday in Portland due to left groin soreness.
Injury report: Jaxson Hayes is questionable (left hamstring tendinopathy) and Deandre Ayton is questionable (left knee soreness).
The Los Angeles Lakers announced Friday that Luka Doncic will miss Saturday’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers because of left groin soreness. Doncic is coming off 39 points in a 135-117 loss to the Charlotte Hornets.
Earlier in the week, Doncic said he “felt something” in his groin during warmups before the 124-112 loss to the Sacramento Kings, but played — scoring 42 with 8 assists and 7 rebounds. He then posted 27 points and 12 assists in the 141-116 win over the Atlanta Hawks.
Doncic leads the league at 33.6 points per game and is the West’s top All-Star vote getter through two ballot returns, but the Lakers have lost eight of their last 13 and sit fifth. Doncic said the Atlanta win showed what L.A. can be: “We got to play like that… fast, physical.”
