Tyrese Maxey spoke candidly about what it means to play in Philadelphia, highlighting the demanding but passionate nature of the city’s fanbase.
Appearing on NBA Courtside, the Philadelphia 76ers guard made it clear that playing in Philly requires mental toughness and resilience.
“I love it. It’s definitely a tough place to play,” Maxey said. “If you’re not tough, if you don’t have thick skin, this is not the place for you.”
Maxey explained that Philadelphia fans are known for holding players accountable, but also for showing deep loyalty once trust is earned.
“The fans are going to hold you accountable,” he added. “But if they love you, they love you.”
The young star’s comments underline the unique pressure — and reward — of playing in one of the NBA’s most intense markets, where effort and competitiveness are valued as much as performance.
