Rookie Kon Knueppel injured his right ankle and did not return in Charlotte’s 120-105 win over Orlando

The Charlotte Hornets beat the Orlando Magic 120-105, but lost Kon Knueppel to a right ankle injury late in the second quarter. He did not return.

Coach Charles Lee said the X-rays were negative. Knueppel will be evaluated again when the team returns to Charlotte.

The injury happened when Knueppel landed on Desmond Bane’s foot while defending a drive and twisted his ankle. He had 16 points, all in the first quarter, hitting 4-of-4 from three before exiting.
