The Los Angeles Lakers lost Austin Reaves during their 119-96 Christmas Day defeat to the Houston Rockets. Reaves was ruled out at halftime with a sore left calf, the team announced.
“Austin clearly felt something,” coach JJ Redick said, noting the staff made the call as the Lakers left the locker room.
Reaves had recently missed three games with what L.A. called a mild left calf strain and returned Tuesday with 17 points in 22 minutes vs Phoenix.
He had 12 points in 15 first-half minutes against Houston before exiting, and Marcus Smart replaced him to start the third quarter.
Luka Dončić advised patience: “Take your time… calves are dangerous,” while Redick reiterated he believes Reaves should be an All-Star.
