Franz Wagner led the Orlando Magic to their sixth win in the last seven games with a standout performance of 37 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists against the New York Knicks, proving decisive in the fourth quarter.
The 24-year-old German forward spoke to the media after the game.
“This was a very intense game, and we stayed focused especially in the fourth quarter, which was crucial. Everyone gave their best on both ends of the floor, even when the game was close. It is essential to play as a team, especially without Paolo [Banchero] and with Coach Mosley out. We are a united group and working hard to get the wins.
For me, the best way to help the team is to do the right thing: if I have the opportunity, I take the shots, but I also try to involve my teammates when I get doubled. Trust among us is high, and you can see that on the court. We will keep working hard to close games strong and maintain intensity, especially against tough opponents like the Knicks.”
Wagner has opened his fifth season with the Magic averaging 23.5 points, 6.4 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game.
