The Dallas Mavericks have no intention of trading Kyrie Irving, who remains sidelined after ACL surgery. According to Marc Stein, Irving is “vibing nicely” with Cooper Flagg during practice sessions.
Irving re-signed last summer on a three-year, $119 million contract, agreeing to a pay cut to let Dallas sign D’Angelo Russell via the taxpayer midlevel exception. The Mavericks are not entertaining offers for Irving, unlike their stance on Anthony Davis.
With a surplus of big men, Dallas seeks balance in the backcourt. Irving remains untouchable and a fan favorite after leading the team to the 2024 NBA Finals.
