Barcelona has officially announced its agreement with Xavi Pascual. The Catalan coach returns to the Blaugrana after nine seasons with a contract until 2028.
As the club points out: “The key to this deal was the excellent relationship between Joan Laporta and Josep Cubells with Xavi Pascual himself.”
Pascual will be accompanied by assistant coach Iñigo Zorzano, who will join the team along with the rest of the technical staff.
Pascual led Barcelona for eight years and four months, then coached Panathinaikos and Zenit, winning two Greek championships and one VTB.
With Barcelona, he won 19 trophies until 2016, including one EuroLeague and four ACBs.
As reported by the club: “The Catalan will join the team starting next Monday, November 17, after the team plays Friday and Sunday at the Palau Blaugrana against Virtus and Baskonia.”
