Victor Wembanyama exploded for 38 points, 12 rebounds, and 5 blocks, powering the San Antonio Spurs to a 121-117 comeback win over the Chicago Bulls on Monday night.
The 20-year-old scored 18 in the fourth quarter, including back-to-back 3-pointers in the final seconds. “He just walked that game down, possession by possession,” said coach Mitch Johnson after the victory.
The Spurs improved to 8-2, their best start since 2015-16. Wembanyama also extended his streak to 95 straight games with a block, the third-longest in NBA history. “We’re where we want to be,” he said.
