A year after his shocking trade from Minnesota to New York, Karl-Anthony Towns admits he’s “still stunned” by the move. The Knicks dominated the Timberwolves 137-114, with Towns posting 15 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists against his former team.
“I built something special there,” Towns said. “It’s weird facing the guys I used to go to battle with. It’s deeper than basketball — it’s family.” The 29-year-old added he still talks to many of his ex-teammates “every day or every other day.”
Former Knicks star Julius Randle, traded for Towns, scored 32 in his return to Madison Square Garden. For Towns, though, the emotions of his Minnesota past remain — even as he helps New York chase new heights.
