Khris Middleton Grateful for Warm Reception in Milwaukee Return

After 12 seasons and a 2021 NBA title with the Milwaukee Bucks, Khris Middleton made an emotional return as a member of the Washington Wizards, receiving multiple standing ovations and a tribute video during a 133-120 loss.

“To get that kind of appreciation means the world to me,” said Middleton, who scored a team-high 23 points. The sold-out Fiserv Forum crowd saluted him throughout the night, and he made sure to acknowledge them.

Former teammate Giannis Antetokounmpo called it “weird but special,” adding: “He can still hoop. He always plays the right way.” The two embraced after facing each other for the first time in Milwaukee.
