Kevin Durant, Rockets Agree to Two-Year, $90 Million Extension

Kevin Durant and the Houston Rockets have agreed to a two-year, $90 million contract extension. The news was reported by Espn’s Shams Charania.

The 15-time All-Star accepted roughly $30 million less than the maximum to help the team maintain salary-cap flexibility.

Durant is set to make his debut with Houston on Tuesday night against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

According to Shams Charania, the new deal brings Durant’s career earnings to $598.2 million, the highest in NBA history, surpassing LeBron James’ $583.9 million.
