Anadolu Efes announces that Georgios Papagiannis has suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee.
The fears have been confirmed after he was stretchered off the court during the game against Panathinaikos. Even at the time, the injury appeared to be very serious, shocking both teams’ benches and the crowd in the arena.
Papagiannis will undergo surgery immediately. His recovery time is initially estimated to be around eight months.
