Following a 126-116 win over the Warriors, JJ Redick addressed questions about the Lakers’ on-court chemistry, saying reporters were “getting a bit obsessive” with the topic. He admitted more practices would help but emphasized the team is managing well.
With LeBron James (sciatica), Luka Doncic and Marcus Smart (Achilles tendinopathy) sidelined, Redick expects Smart to play twice this week. Meanwhile, Austin Reaves, Dalton Knecht, Rui Hachimura and Deandre Ayton stood out in the win.
Ayton, in his first home game as a Laker, said he “felt the love” from the crowd: “It was amazing hearing cheers instead of boos — I had a lot of fun.” Redick concluded that both games and practices are key for building chemistry.
