At his first media day with the Houston Rockets, Kevin Durant left no doubt: “I do see myself signing a contract extension.” His current deal expires in 2026.

Durant, acquired from Phoenix in June, is eligible for a two-year extension worth over $120 million. “I can’t tell you when, but I do see it happening,” the 15-time All-Star said.

With Fred VanVleet sidelined by an ACL injury, Houston will rely heavily on Durant’s leadership. “I never talk about championships, it’s about daily work,” he explained.
