According to ESPN, the Golden State Warriors have commitments from Gary Payton II and De’Anthony Melton, joining Al Horford. The deals will be finalized once Jonathan Kuminga decides on his qualifying offer by October 1.
Payton, coming off his healthiest season since 2021-22, played 62 regular season games and 11 in the playoffs, remaining a trusted piece for Steve Kerr after helping win the 2022 title.
Melton, sidelined by an ACL injury last year, appeared in just six games. At 27, he’s known as a versatile guard who can defend, stretch the floor and handle playmaking when healthy.
