Despite having just turned 20, Zaccharie Risacher already has a clear vision for both his personal goals and those of a young French national team ahead of EuroBasket.
The first overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft and Atlanta Hawks forward shared his thoughts in an interview with Athletiko:
“I want to help my team win as many games as possible, and I’m ready to contribute in every way — through defense, scoring, and rebounding. I’m a very versatile player, and I need to adapt quickly to the team’s needs, make the right plays at the right time, and create the best situations to help as much as I can.”
Risacher’s objective is clear: winning a medal. France has consistently been among the top contenders, and the rookie forward is optimistic about their chances:
“I think we have a good shot. We play well together, we enjoy playing for one another, and that’s the most important thing. We’re focused on ourselves and on becoming the best version of our team. We know it’s going to be a huge challenge, but our goal is to win EuroBasket. We’ve worked very hard over the past two months and we have a fantastic group, full of talent and great people. Now we just need to give it everything we have.”
Risacher is coming off his rookie season in the NBA, where he averaged 12.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game.
