Babatunde Oladotun has moved up his high school graduation from the class of 2027 to 2026 and is set to finish his studies this spring at Blake High School in Maryland. Despite the change, he won’t turn 18 until December of his first year in college.
Previously regarded as the top prospect in the 2027 class, Oladotun is now projected to rank among the top ten recruits for 2026.
Explaining his decision, Oladotun told ESPN that his academic progress made the move possible and that competing against older players has been a constant in his career. After playing in the 17U division for Team Durant, he felt physically ready, noting that he has added 20 pounds in the past year and no longer feels like he’s competing above his age group. He also emphasized his commitment to finishing at Blake High School, describing it as a supportive and positive environment.
When it comes to recruiting, Oladotun plans to start his visits with Maryland and Virginia Tech, while last year he made unofficial stops at UCLA and USC.
His father, Ibrahim, said they are looking for a program led by a coach with proven success both in developing players and winning games. Ideally, that coach would have experience working with taller guards and would run an NBA-style offense focused on quick, decisive actions.
