David Adelman shared his excitement about Jonas Valanciunas joining the Denver Nuggets, calling him a “point center” who expands offensive options behind Nikola Jokic. “You can play combo guards without a true point guard and still run five-out offense,” Adelman explained.
“He can post up, play from the elbow, and he’s such a skilled player,” the coach added. “It’s the first time we’ve had a backup with a similar skillset to Jokic since DeMarcus Cousins.” Adelman emphasized that Valanciunas brings “experience and quality to raise the level in practices and games.”
Despite Panathinaikos’ interest, the Nuggets are set to confirm the signing of the Lithuanian center, a veteran of 995 NBA games. “We are excited to add a player who can help us immediately,” Adelman concluded.
