Nikola Jokic will postpone extension discussions with the Denver Nuggets until 2026

Nikola Jokic has decided not to sign a contract extension with the Denver Nuggets this summer, opting to delay talks until the 2026 offseason. He still has three years left on his $276M deal signed in 2022.

By waiting, Jokic could add a fourth year worth an additional $77M, according to ESPN. Nuggets president Josh Kroenke said the team will offer the extension but respects Jokic’s timing.

The Nuggets have made moves around Jokic, hiring David Adelman as coach and trading Porter Jr. for Cameron Johnson, and Saric for Valanciunas. Bruce Brown returns, and Tim Hardaway Jr. joins in free agency.
