Alen Smailagic is on the verge of becoming a new Virtus Bologna player, according to Basketnews.
Zalgiris Kaunas, which already has his replacement lined up, is expected to receive a buyout to release the 24-year-old Serbian big man, who is under contract until 2026.
Smailagic averaged 8.1 points (55% FG, 35% from three) and 2.9 rebounds in 15 minutes per game in last season’s EuroLeague.
