Daniel Gafford has agreed to a three-year extension worth nearly $60 million with the Dallas Mavericks, ESPN reports. The new contract keeps him with the franchise through the 2028-29 season, while still allowing trade flexibility this year.
Gafford, 26, was a key part of the Mavericks’ 2024 Finals run after arriving from Washington. He now anchors a frontcourt that includes Dereck Lively II, Anthony Davis and likely top draft pick Cooper Flagg.
Known for his elite finishing, Gafford holds the NBA’s best career FG% (71%) since 2019. He’s also among the league’s top interior defenders, ranking top 10 in contested field goal percentage last season.
