Atkinson returns to lead an NBA team after two seasons as an assistant coach with Clippers and Warriors

Kenny Atkinson will be the next head coach of the Charlotte Hornets, Shams Charania reports.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Atkinson will sign a 4-year contract.

Atkinson met with Charlotte Hornets officials — including owner Michael Jordan — on Wednesday and the franchise has decided on the former Nets coach as its new head coach, sources said. Atkinson brings development and defensive structure to a young and talented roster. https://t.co/MqlwGJxzz9
