Troy Weaver declined Bulls interview because he felt it was ‘Token Offer’

Thunder VP was in contention for the role later went to Arturas Karnisovas.

Oklahoma City vice president Troy Weaver declined to be apart of the second round of interviews for the then-vacant Chicago Bulls vice president of basketball operations role because he felt it was a “token offer,” sources told Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated.

Weaver was told that the Bulls were already expected to hire Arturas Karnisovas for the role. Several African-American executives from around the league were frustrated with the Bulls hiring process for the position.
