Delfino has played in four editions of the Olympic Games: 2004, 2008, 2012 and 2016.

In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Carpegna Prosciutto Basket Pesaro coach Jasmin Repesa has said that former NBA forward Carlos Delfino has chosen to play in Pesaro because of his relationship with him (the pair were together at Fortitudo Bologna and played a Euroleague final in 2004) and because the Argentinian is aiming to play in the Tokyo Olympic Tournament.

After being inactive for 2019-20 season, Delfino has been a key figure so far for the resurgent Pesaro, averaging 14.0 points and 4.0 rebounds per game with a 41.2% from 3-point in six LBA games and has currently a 4-game streak of at least 12 points scored. Delfino has appeared for Argentina in all Olympic tournaments since Athens 2004: if he will play in Tokyo, he will appear for the fifth Olympic Games in his career.
