Mozzart Sport, Mills explained why he sees the two leagues as fundamentally different.

“Honestly, I think the EuroLeague and the NBA are two competitions that cannot be compared. When you really break things down, they almost seem like two completely different sports. For me, having played for the national team for so many years was good preparation. I’ve competed in several FIBA tournaments.

“All those experiences helped me, at least to some extent, prepare for this new challenge, the pressure and the rules. But playing in the EuroLeague is a completely new experience. I’ve always wanted to get a firsthand look at the EuroLeague and everything that comes with it. I’m enjoying every single aspect of it.”

Mills also weighed in on two of the European stars currently making their mark in the NBA: Serbia’s Nikola Jokic and France’s Victor Wembanyama.

“I think Jokic’s trophies, accolades and individual awards over the past few years speak for themselves. But there’s no doubt that Wemby is making huge strides, and his dominance will follow. As for San Antonio, they’re my team. They’re in the Western Conference, they’re the reigning Western Conference champions, and there’s no doubt they’ll make it to the Finals. In fact, I’m sure they’ll go all the way this time.”

Mills is making quite an impression in the EuroLeague, averaging 15.1 points and 2.2 assists in just 20 minutes per game. He’s shooting 55% from the field, 47% from three-point range and 85% from the free-throw line.
