Anton Gavel and Justinian Jessup have shared their thoughts ahead of the EuroLeague matchup between Bayern Munich and Barcelona, highlighting the need to improve defensively and bring more energy than in the previous game.

Anton Gavel, Bayern head coach

“At Barcelona, the guards run and dominate the game very well; especially with [Kevin] Punter and [Justin] Robinson they have two individually very strong players who have already gotten hot multiple times. We conceded 107 points here in the last game — we won’t win a single game like that. That’s why the focus in preparation was on defense. We expect a completely different performance from the team on both ends of the floor compared to last time. What comes of it, we’ll see.”

Justinian Jessup, Bayern guard

“Barcelona have played very well lately and have found themselves. But it’s also on us, because we need to come out with much more energy than last week to finally get the first win at SAP Garden for our fans. We especially have a lot to make up for on defense, but we firmly believe that, as a team, we can do much better.”

The Bayern head coach and guard preview the EuroLeague matchup, stressing the need for greater energy and defensive intensity to secure the team’s first home win of the season.

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false
_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false
[199
["post-556565","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-euroleague
["GET
