NBA teams are monitoring Kyrie Irving’s situation with the Dallas Mavericks, according to ESPN’s Tim MacMahon and Marc Spears. Dallas still values the guard, but its roster is increasingly being built around 19-year-old Cooper Flagg.

MacMahon said a move to a contender could eventually make sense for both Irving and the Mavericks. For now, that remains a possibility rather than a reported trade request from the nine-time All-Star.

Irving missed the entire 2025-26 season after tearing his ACL. Spears expects interest if he returns healthy and noted that Irving’s relationship with Masai Ujiri could matter if the guard decides his future lies away from Dallas.
