CSE Talent Senior Vice President Darrell Comer confirmed the agreement to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Payton will join the Kings for training camp and compete for a roster spot. Sacramento general manager Scott Perry previously worked with the guard during their time with the Orlando Magic and New York Knicks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The veteran has played nine NBA seasons, averaging 9.8 points and 5.8 assists per game.
