During the event, the former Clippers star made it clear that he does not want to challenge Jayson Tatum\u2019s status as Boston\u2019s centerpiece, emphasizing his desire to help him and contribute to a roster he considers elite. George also addressed the initial reaction from Celtics fans to his involvement in the trade that sent Jaylen Brown away from Boston.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>\u201cWe have a superstar and that&#8217;s JT. I&#8217;m not here to not necessarily steal the shine or try to reinvent who I am. I&#8217;m here to help JT, and he&#8217;s the guy. I&#8217;ve played alongside another superstar wing, and we co-existed beautifully.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">George also praised his new environment in Boston: \u201cWe&#8217;ve got an unbelievable roster, unbelievable coach.
