Simmons, the founder of The Ringer and one of the most popular sports podcasters in the United States, is based in California, where sports betting is not legal.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">During a recent episode of his podcast, Simmons revealed that he had allowed his daughter\u2019s boyfriend to log into his FanDuel account and place several wagers for him. The practice, known as proxy betting, is illegal in Massachusetts and is also prohibited by FanDuel.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">According to <strong>NBC News<\/strong>, FanDuel reported the matter to the Massachusetts Gaming Commission and voided Simmons\u2019 bets.
