Jason Kidd recently spoke with the All-Star Magazine YouTube channel<\/a>. Among the topics discussed by the former Dallas Mavericks head coach was Cooper Flagg, who was named Rookie of the Year after a standout first season, with Kidd playing a key role in putting the ball in his hands and giving him significant responsibilities.<\/p>\n

“Well, I think he’s on pace (to become one of the Greats). So, when you talk about LeBron and what he did as a young player, and then also Cooper’s ability, you know, he’s one that loves to win, wants to win, \u00a0likes to work, is not afraid of the moment…. So, I would say he is on pace. I think those (LeBron and Antetokounmpo) are his comp. Now, can he stay healthy like LeBron? And then I think all greats are judged with championships. Not so much stats, but that’s the one stat that will stand out. And hopefully Cooper can achieve that”<\/p>\n

Kidd was also asked about the most important move of the offseason: “I think the one that’s going to stand \u00a0out and everyone’s talking about is LeBron going to Philly. It automatically puts Philly in the in the talks of winning a championship. They could be the best team in the East….That’s just him at the age of 42. He still has that power and and so it’s just a credit to him. But I also think Philly because they do have a young backcourt that’s very exciting to \u00a0watch and Maxey and DJ”.<\/p>\n
