However, the French international will play for Anadolu Efes Istanbul next season after being given permission in the spring to leave his contract early amid the uncertainty surrounding Monaco\u2019s future in the EuroLeague.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2362\" data-end=\"2575\">Despite his departure, Strazel followed the club\u2019s unsuccessful attempts to remain in French professional basketball with genuine disappointment. <a href=\"https:\/\/sportando.basketball\/en\/as-monaco-to-apply-for-nm1-spot-our-goal-is-to-return\/\">Monaco has since been excluded from both Betclic ELITE and ELITE 2<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2 data-section-id=\"13jxd2d\" data-start=\"2577\" data-end=\"2601\">\u201cI\u2019m gutted for them\u201d<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2603\" data-end=\"2795\">After exhausting its remaining options, apart from a possible appeal to the administrative court, Monaco\u2019s chances of returning to high-level basketball next season appear increasingly remote.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2797\" data-end=\"3000\">Strazel, who won seven trophies with AS Monaco, shared his thoughts with <strong data-start=\"2870\" data-end=\"2882\">L\u2019\u00c9quipe<\/strong> after France\u2019s win over Sweden, while also adding a touch of irony when discussing the reaction to Monaco\u2019s downfall.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"3002\" data-end=\"3303\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">\n<p data-start=\"3004\" data-end=\"3303\" data-is-last-node=\"\">\u201cThe French public will be happy that Monaco is no longer there. I feel like it took some time. Nobody wanted to see them. So I\u2019m gutted for them. But we\u2019ll see if the league is better without them. Apparently, there are a lot of people who don\u2019t like Monaco.
