Lu Dort is embracing his move to the Atlanta Hawks after spending his first seven NBA seasons with the Oklahoma City Thunder. After learning about the trade, he immediately contacted Nickeil Alexander-Walker, one of his closest friends.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s amazing,\u201d Dort said, according to Clemente Almanza<\/strong>. \u201cNickeil is one of my closest friends. We played on the same high school team and against each other our whole lives.\u201d The two Canadians will now become Atlanta teammates in 2026-27.<\/p>\n Dort is also looking forward to connecting with the city: \u201cI know there are a lot of my roots and a big Haitian community out there.
