\u0160iauliai<\/strong> have officially signed Mike Caffey<\/strong>, with the 33-year-old American point guard agreeing to a one-year contract with the Lithuanian club.<\/p>\n

Caffey will strengthen \u0160iauliai’s backcourt as the team prepares for the upcoming season and its return to international competition under head coach Darius Songaila.<\/p>\n

The 1.83-meter point guard spent the last two seasons with Voluntari CSO<\/strong>, competing in the Romanian league and the ENBL.<\/p>\n

Head coach Darius Songaila highlighted Caffey’s European experience and his ability to perform in important games.<\/p>\n

\u201cMike has accumulated solid experience in European basketball, and as we step onto the international stage, that will be extremely important for us. A year ago, he deservedly became the ENBL Final Four MVP, which shows his ability to control the game at the most important moments. This is a strong addition that we were really missing,\u201d Songaila said.<\/p>\n

Mike Caffey was an ENBL champion<\/h2>\n

Caffey helped Voluntari CSO reach the ENBL Final Four in two consecutive seasons. During the 2024-25 campaign, the American guard helped the Romanian club win the title and was named Final Four MVP<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In his most recent Romanian league season, Caffey appeared in 36 games<\/strong>, averaging 10.9 points, 2.7 rebounds and 4.2 assists<\/strong> in 23 minutes per game.<\/p>\n

He shot 58.6% from two-point range, 31.9% from three-point range and 76.9% from the free-throw line<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Mike Caffey’s European basketball career<\/h2>\n

Caffey has built an extensive European career before joining Voluntari CSO.<\/p>\n

The American point guard has previously played in the top divisions of Poland, Germany, Ukraine, Slovakia, Finland, Greece and Hungary<\/strong>, with Lithuania now becoming the latest stop in his European career.<\/p>\n

\u0160iauliai have already started their preseason schedule. In their first friendly game, Songaila’s team defeated Latvian champions Glass VIA Valmiera<\/strong> 117-99.<\/p>\n
