Anton Gavel has offered his first assessment of Bayern Munich\u2019s preparations. \u201cBeing Bayern\u2019s head coach is a challenge and certainly an honor,\u201d he said during the club\u2019s Media Talk. \u201cThis is not about me, but about how the team performs. I am responsible for that, and that is how I will be judged.\u201d<\/p>\n
Gavel is preparing for his first EuroLeague season as a head coach. \u201cI respect the challenge. I\u2019m not afraid, but I have respect for the EuroLeague, the BBL and the expectations,\u201d he explained. \u201cThere will be no adjustment period, so we must be ready immediately. Coaching in the EuroLeague is the ultimate highlight for me.\u201d<\/p>\n
The coach also addressed Rokas Jokubaitis\u2019 recovery after nearly a year away from the court. \u201cWe are constantly increasing his workload and remain confident that he will be normally available at the start of the season.\u201d Gavel views the Lithuanian guard as a potential leader but stressed that it would be unfair to expect him to immediately return to his pre-injury level.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
