Lamar Stevens is one of Partizan\u2019s new additions. After experiencing EuroLeague basketball for the first time last season with Paris Basketball, the American forward is preparing for his second season in Europe, this time wearing the black-and-white jersey.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the club\u2019s television channel, Stevens discussed his first impressions of Belgrade, his adaptation to a new culture and the challenge of representing a club with such a rich history.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m learning a lot, and the city is beautiful\u201d<\/h2>\n

Stevens has enjoyed his first few days with the team.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been a few good days. I\u2019m learning a lot and we\u2019re really pushing each other in practice. I\u2019m getting a lot of love from the fans, and the city is beautiful.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The American admitted that he did not know much about Serbia or Partizan before arriving, although he was already aware of the atmosphere inside the Belgrade Arena.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t know much. I just knew that the energy in the Arena was the best in Europe.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Now, he is discovering the history and tradition of his new club.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cI\u2019m learning a lot every day. I\u2019m learning about the club, its history and how much success Partizan has had in the past. It\u2019s a process for me, but it\u2019s incredible to integrate with the team and the history this club has. I\u2019m excited to represent Partizan.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\u201cWe have a team that can play very hard\u201d<\/h2>\n

Stevens is optimistic about the group assembled by Partizan.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cI think we have a team that can play very hard, with pride, and that is willing to learn so we can become better together.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

For Stevens, collective commitment will be crucial throughout the season.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cThis year will be a collective effort. We\u2019re going to need everyone, and we all have to be on the same page. This is a group of good guys who are hungry to win.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\u201cMy first year in Europe was a year of learning\u201d<\/h2>\n

The American also reflected on his first season in European basketball with Paris.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cThe first year was a year of learning and adapting to the court and things off the court. That was necessary for my development, and now I feel more comfortable playing and living in Europe.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Stevens believes he is entering his second European season with a different mindset.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cI\u2019m excited for my second season because I\u2019m coming in with a different mentality and the feeling that I have something to prove. I\u2019m looking forward to the challenge.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s time to make my mark in Europe\u201d<\/h2>\n

Stevens also has two NBA playoff appearances on his r\u00e9sum\u00e9, an experience he considers valuable.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cThat\u2019s an advantage for me, just playing in those environments. But whatever I did in America stays there. Now it\u2019s time for me to make my mark in Europe. I\u2019m ready for the next step.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\u201cI\u2019m ready for whatever role is needed\u201d<\/h2>\n

The Partizan newcomer also explained what he can bring to the team.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m ready for whatever role is needed. I\u2019m a player who is going to play hard, give everything on defense, dunk, shoot threes\u2026 I have versatility in my game and I can guard anybody.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

His goal is to make an impact whenever he steps onto the court.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m a player who comes onto the court and impacts what happens on it.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\u201cI\u2019m taking it day by day\u201d<\/h2>\n

Partizan\u2019s ambitions are naturally high, but Stevens prefers to focus on the process rather than looking too far ahead.<\/p>\n

\u201cObviously, everyone is going to say the goal is to win the championship. You never enter a season with a different mindset.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\n

\u201cFor me, my mentality is to take it day by day and get to success that way. I never look too far ahead. I like to be present and be where my feet are,\u201d Stevens concluded.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
