Johannes Voigtmann announced through his social media channels that his time with the German national team has come to an end. \u201cAs of today, this chapter of my life is over,\u201d the former Olimpia Milano player wrote.<\/p>\n

\u201c128 national team games. 128 times with the eagle on my chest. 128 times hearing the national anthem, looking at the flag and thinking about what it means to me,\u201d Voigtmann said in his message. \u201cI wish everyone could experience it at least once.\u201d<\/p>\n

The big man thanked his teammates, staff members, fans and especially his family for supporting him throughout every summer spent with Germany. \u201cYou made this journey truly special. It has been an absolute honor,\u201d Voigtmann concluded.<\/p>\n
