{"id":510157,"date":"2026-08-15T14:49:08","date_gmt":"2026-08-15T12:49:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportando.basketball\/?p=510157"},"modified":"2026-08-15T14:49:08","modified_gmt":"2026-08-15T12:49:08","slug":"marc-owen-fodzo-dada-close-to-asvel-talks-progressing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sportando.basketball\/en\/marc-owen-fodzo-dada-close-to-asvel-talks-progressing\/","title":{"rendered":"Marc-Owen Fodzo Dada close to ASVEL: talks progressing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"PDq2pG_selectionAnchorContainer\" data-start=\"1952\" data-end=\"2102\"><strong data-start=\"1952\" data-end=\"1961\">ASVEL<\/strong> are making progress on one of their next roster additions, with <strong data-start=\"2026\" data-end=\"2050\">Marc-Owen Fodzo Dada<\/strong> emerging as a key target for the Villeurbanne club.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2104\" data-end=\"2257\">The <strong data-start=\"2108\" data-end=\"2129\">19-year-old guard<\/strong>, who stands at 1.90m, currently plays for <strong data-start=\"2172\" data-end=\"2186\">SLUC Nancy<\/strong> and had initially planned to continue his development in the <strong data-start=\"2248\" data-end=\"2256\">NCAA<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2259\" data-end=\"2422\">However, his move to the United States fell through after he failed to obtain the necessary eligibility to play in the NCAA, putting him back on the French market.<\/p>\n<h2 data-section-id=\"g5dvne\" data-start=\"2424\" data-end=\"2478\"><span role=\"text\"><strong data-start=\"2427\" data-end=\"2478\">Talks are advanced, but buyout remains an issue<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2480\" data-end=\"2658\">According to <em data-start=\"2493\" data-end=\"2505\">Le Progr\u00e8s<\/em>, Fodzo Dada is expected to be ASVEL&#8217;s next signing. Information from BeBasket also indicates that negotiations between the parties are progressing well.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2660\" data-end=\"2820\">There is still one important issue to resolve, however: <strong data-start=\"2716\" data-end=\"2767\">the buyout that ASVEL will have to pay to Nancy<\/strong>, as Fodzo Dada remains under contract with the SLUC.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2822\" data-end=\"2920\">His potential arrival would also address a specific need in <strong data-start=\"2882\" data-end=\"2899\">Tony Parker&#8217;s<\/strong> roster construction.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2922\" data-end=\"3091\">Following <strong data-start=\"2932\" data-end=\"2969\">Mbaye Ndiaye&#8217;s move to Olympiacos<\/strong>, ASVEL currently have only <strong data-start=\"2997\" data-end=\"3036\">three locally trained players (JFL)<\/strong> and still need to strengthen their perimeter rotation.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3093\" data-end=\"3128\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\"><em data-start=\"3093\" data-end=\"3128\" data-is-last-node=\"\">Source: <strong data-start=\"3102\" data-end=\"3127\">Le Progr\u00e8s \/ <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bebasket.fr\/apres-plusieurs-departs-lasvel-toute-proche-dengager-un-jfl\">BeBasket<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 19-year-old Nancy guard has emerged as ASVEL&#8217;s next target after his planned move to the NCAA fell through.
