According to <em data-start=\"2128\" data-end=\"2149\">Front Office Sports<\/em>, the <strong data-start=\"2155\" data-end=\"2176\">Memphis Grizzlies<\/strong> officially terminated Clarke&#8217;s contract on July 3, roughly seven weeks after his death.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2266\" data-end=\"2541\">Clarke had one season remaining on his four-year, $50 million contract signed in 2022, with a salary of <strong data-start=\"2370\" data-end=\"2387\">$12.5 million<\/strong> for the 2026-27 campaign. However, because the contract was not insured in the event of death, that final season&#8217;s salary will not be paid to his estate.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2543\" data-end=\"2743\">His full 2025-26 salary, however, will still be honored. The remaining semi-monthly payments will continue through October 16 and will be paid to his estate according to the original payment schedule.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2745\" data-end=\"2936\">Sources also told <em data-start=\"2763\" data-end=\"2784\">Front Office Sports<\/em> that Clarke had a life insurance policy, although it remains unclear whether the circumstances surrounding his death could affect any potential payout.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2938\" data-end=\"3291\">On August 7, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner ruled that Clarke died from <strong data-start=\"3019\" data-end=\"3065\">the combined effects of heroin and cocaine<\/strong>, classifying the death as accidental.
